1944 marked the first year
Oklahoma would hold a post-season playoff to determine State Champions.
The schools were divided into three classes according to enrollment, A,
B & C. Stilwell is placed in class B. Each class contains eight
districts with the district champions advancing to the playoffs.

game is played at Gable Field in Tahlequah, with the Indians downing the
